Moving Subtitle display location via HTPC (1 Viewer)

Here's my issue, with a 2.35:1 screen, projector, and HTPC: A standard stand-alone DVD player will choose the location to display subtitles for 2.35:1 material based on the assumption that one has a 1.78:1 screen. That is, such subtitles are off the bottom of a 2.35:1 screen.
Is there a way in WinDVD or some app to move the subtitles north (up) by "x" pixels.... so that I don't lose them off the bottom of the screen?

Looks like WinDVD can't do this. Still wondering if something like xyz can, so I'm off.
