M&K Sound has today introduced the new discreet and design-conscious D Series of loudspeakers, comprising the D85 ($649 per pair) and D95 ($799 per pair) models. The décor-friendly speakers, available in flat White, Black or Grey are optimized for placement on walls, stands or furniture, and are ideal for flanking flat-panel displays for smaller AV rooms.
The D85 and D95 include M&K Sound’s 1.1-inch coated silk dome tweeters ported over from the reference 150 Series loudspeakers, so the performance is neutral and detailed. This configuration also enables timbre-matching across all the company’s loudspeakers. The D95 and D85 boast 91 dB and 89 dB of sensitivity, respectively, for better dynamics from the small enclosures. Although the D95 sports the larger front-on profile of 11.81 (H) x 9.45 (W) inches while the D85 measures 9.65 (H) x 7.68 (W) inches, both models have a common slim depth of 3.74 inches.
