I have a NSP1 speaker set and a Kenwood 6050 reciver and im noticing alot of hissing sounds coming out of my speaker. It only comes out of the front right and left and the center(center speaker doesnt have nearly as much hiss as the fronts). Its VERY noticable. I hear it on DVDs and CDs and even when the only thing turned on is the reciver and the volume is turned up i hear it. It starts around -25db and at -7db(max volume) it is very loud. i usually watch movies woth the volume set and -14db. It seems like it has gotten much worse then when i first got my reciver. I checked all the connections and they look good. Any ideas on why its making so much noise.

Ryan,

What gauge of wire are you using? and what distance do you have to your speakers?

Before I upgraded my system, I had a HTiB, and I bought cheap 22 gauge wire, and ended with some distortion and a irritating noise, when everything was quiet, the speakers still made a sound. So I upgraded to 16 gauge everything sounded great.

Now that I upgraded to a better system, I bought 12 gauge, and I'm trouble free, at least with distortion.

Hope this helps,
Pablo Abularach.
