Today, Juggernaut. Beginning in British TV, American director Richard Lester likely captured the zeitgeist of Swinging London in the 1960’s better than any director on both sides of the Atlantic. He made a splash with two movies starring The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night (1964) and Help! (1965) – but his sojourn into Hollywood had uneven results with A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Forum (1966), How I Won the War (1967), Petulia (1968) and The Bed Sitting Room (1969). However, Lester landed on his feet at the start of the 1970’s due to the success of The Three Musketeers (1973), which he followed up with Juggernaut, United Artists’ attempt to cash in on the burgeoning disaster genre. Kino first released the movie on Blu-ray in 2014, now the company has brought it back into print with this re-release.
