I'm currently using analog and digital cable, although I had DirecTV in the past. I would say that it does a pretty good job with the cable. However, I have found that my VCR actually has a better tuner and does a better job of cleaning up analog noise such as herringbone patterns.

Its been a long time since I bought it, so I can't really remember too well how it compared to other sets other than I thought that it was the best combination of features and picture.

However, I've read that the CT-36HX42 no longer does this squeeze.
Interesting.....I wonder why they would eliminate a feature that so many obviously consider critical to a set like this....hmmm. :rolleyes:

FWIW, BB has the 42 on sale this week for $1300.
