Are there home video cameras that shoot in aspect ratios other than 4:3?

Yes, the newer digital models especially can shoot in multiple aspect ratios, with an eye towards HD and playback on widescreen sets. Heck, I figure if the one whatzizname had could do night vision it could handle 16:9. That was sixteen by nine, BTW.

Even my Hi8 camera from 6 years ago could shoot in 16:9.
