Having problems with my yamaha rxv-440 remote. (1 Viewer)

I cant get it to program. Im trying to use it as my main remote but it wont program. It says push the key for the unit it u want to use, EX. DVD. Then push the program key. I think. But it says it will flash the led after that and it doesnt. So I cant get it to go any further.

Hi Jesse,

1) With a pointy object (ball-point pen works well), press the "code set" button (top left hand corner)

2) Press the desired component button (ex. Gray DVD button)

3) Enter the 4 digit brand code (located in the back of your manual)

Voila!

Some brands have 4-5 different codes so you may have to repeat process until your other compenent works. In one case, the first two codes "worked" for my JVC TV but I found the 3rd code actually did all the functions it's original remote did. You may have to experiment.

In that order? Stupid manual told me to do your step 1 and 2 switched. Are you sure?

Well there acctually was a problem with the remote. So I brought it back to the store and swapped it. Now it works fine. Just gotta go home and program it. Hopefully it will work ok with all my stuff.
