Will the harmon/kardon ARV225 work at less than 8 ohms? I havnt been able to find anything that will tell me if it can handle less than 8ohms. Will it put out more power at lower impedances?

Yes it will work.

But - the lower the nominal impedence of a speaker (8/6/4), the more current will be drawn. This causes heat in your receiver. Make sure you have good ventilation/space around the receiver and avoid cranking the volume way up.

Also, if you have an external, self-powered subwoofer, define the rest of your speakers as "SMALL". This will prevent your receiver from trying to produce the power-hungry low frequency sounds from all speakers.
