Just keep playing. It's a hard game that takes a lot of practice. But it's kinda like making babies, lot's of fun to practice!

If you are just starting out, try the "vigilante" missions. Hijack any of the following: Taxi, Cop car, Fire Truck, Paramedic; then press R3 to start the missions. Benefits are threefold: 1) You learn the areas fast; 2) After completing certain numbers of missions, you earn bonuses; 3) As you progress in the game, everyone hates you & it becomes harder to complete these missions later.
Also, search out as many hidden packages as possible. As you find more and more, you will have weapons appear at your hideout. BTW: If you think you are going to eventually track them all down, check out these maps and check off the packages as you get them. I'm at 95 of 100, and it's impossible to remember which ones I've found already. :frowning:
Learn the locations of armor & the police stars that reduce your wanted level.
Finally, don't steal crappy cars!

He is talking about doing the Vigilante, Ambulance, and fire-truck missions. If you don't do those 1st, it becomes harder to do them later because the regular missions cause a bit of a wrinkle between you and the gangs.
