Good, well-priced DVD player to watch DVD-Rs? (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I'm in the market for a new DVD player and would like something that can handle DVD-Rs extremely well. My old Sony DVP-300 stutters like crazy and since I'm getting a new tv I figured I would throw a new player on the pile.

The only issue here is that I have a lot of DVD-Rs with the purple-bottoms, something that seems to send a lot of players into a frenzy of freezing and crashing. I may also be receiving some with the orange and gold bottoms. Is there a good, well-priced player that's pretty solid when it comes to handling DVD-Rs of any kind? Any advice?

Rob, check out VCDHELP.COM. It's a forum geared for making your own video CDs (VCDs) but they have a pretty comprehensive list of DVD players and what media they are capable of playing... MSRPs also along with member reviews.
