Shit day...and a shit start to a weekend...
We had a lost time work accident today. Employee driving a reach truck...
Ran into a rack barrier while having the foot...outside the equipment.
Lost her index toe, mangled her large toe, probably broke the foot in numerous locations.
Two of us were 1st and 2nd on scene(I was 2nd). The other guy held her foot in the air and wrapped his belt around her ankle. I held her hands telling her to squeeze as much as she needed to.
Accident was probably her fault(reach trucks are dangerous, they weigh a few tons)...as she lost control, panicked and attempted to jump out.
The entire facility was in a funk the rest of the shift...as this happened just shy of two hours in. Not a way any of us wanted as a reason to only work 8 hours.
