I got bored of waiting for the official 65th anniversary disc to be announced.
I picked up the French Gone With The Wind Special Edition this weekend.
The movie is the same as the UK R2 release, no forced subtitles, a flipper. The PAL transfer was handled by LDI, famous for the efforts on Citizen Kane, Singin' In The Rain and Adventures of Robin Hood.
With the standard movie disc comes a 2nd DVD. This contains a 2hr making of documentary from Turner Entertainment and a 1hr documentary on Clark Gable. Both of these documentaries is very good.
In the absence of a true special edition, this is a very acceptable stop gap.
