According to the Digital Bits, MGM is releasing Rohmer's A Tale Of Springtime March 5 for $19.95. I'm thankful that someone other than Fox/Lorber has gotten into the Rohmer business.
Secret Defense (Jacques Rivette, France)
Gang of Four (Jacques Rivette, France)
Wuthering Heights (Jacques Rivette, France)
Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, Jacques Rivette on DVD.
Unforunately, the studio is Image, which means a non-anamorphic transfer and subtitles only if we are lucky.
Also it never ceases to amaze me which movies the studios will put out first -- Celine and Julie Go Boating and Haut, Bas, Fragile being his best movies.
But wait, what do I see: both parts ofJean la Pucelle (Joan the Maid) are already out! Does anybody know if the DVD is OAR (1.85:1) or Pan & Scan??? Cut or uncut? Increadible movie, for those who haven't seen it.

Due January 21st. This 2 disk set will be priced at £19.99. The picture is presented anamorphic while the soundtrack is DD5.1 Russian sondtrack. Subtitles are English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. Extras will be:
Filmographies
Stills Gallery
Interview with Andrei Tarkovsky's sister Marina Tarkovskaya
Tarkovsky trailers
Theophanes the Greek, Andrei Rublev and behind the scenes featurettes.
From the looks of it the Tarkovsky's are just licensed Rusico releases (I think).

Va Savoir (Jacques Rivette) Columbia Tristar
Well there will be at least one Rivette movie with a decent transfer!
About today's releases: Baise-Moi is NOT OAR -- the DVD says 1.33:1 (Full Screen). I beleive that OAR is 1.77:1
Hey just because it's trash...
The Servant is 16:9 enhanced. Count on Anchor Bay to transfer anything widescreen in anamorphic DVD format. I vote that any art film not released by Criterion go to Anchor Bay
I didn't see Of Freaks and Men at J&R -- has anyone gotten it? It's a movie I already loved on page 1 of this thread...
