Equipment List web app: Need opinions (1 Viewer)

I am thinking about creating a shareware web application that will allow home theater enthusiasts to manage an equipment list (hardware and CDs/DVDs if you wish). It would all be driven by a database that would allow users to search and cross-reference thier equipment with others. Other features would include sorted reports, a notepad for best practices, and private messages. The end result would hopefully be a way for you to make contact with other users of your equipment.

My question is: does this sound like something that you would be interested in? I've started the development, but I don't want to go too deeply into it if there is no interest. Also, any ideas would be appreciated.

I think that in this hobbie there are enough geeks/gear-heads/techies, that this would be something that would be used if the funcitonality was there.
