Zoinks! I wonder if this means more E-Bay spam since I have a paypal account
Looks like E-bay decided competing with paypal just wasn't worth it, so they just bought em. All in all not to surprising.
Was PayPal purchased via an auction on ebay??? If so, was ebay the high bid or did they use "Buy It Now"? Just curious
Since about 60% of PayPal's business is from eBay auctions, I wonder if this is good. Since PayPal's acquisition will not be finalized until the end of this year, I have to think whether to continue using PayPal as I am currently using it.
This FAQ should answer all near-future plans of Ebay.
Looks like Billpoint will go away by the end of the year.
Oh boy. Higher fees and less competition. I'm going back to USPS money orders...
Why am I not surprised? I hope eBay will not restrict the use of PayPal to eBay transactions. I have used PayPal for many non-eBay transactions. Admittedly, I have not read the FAQ page that Aurel posted yet. Hopefully there is some good information there.
I wonder if PayPal "accidentally" double-charged eBay's chequing account?
Will they change the name to ePay?
