Hi there everybody,

This is my first thread ever in this forum. First of all I must congratulate all of you for the great contribution you people give. It is a really helpful forum.

I am willing to purchase a brand new DVD player. I read many of your discussions threads and even though is very informative, I would like to have a CHECK LIST.

So I would like a Check List that help me out to pay attention to the most important technical features of a DVD PLAYER (regardless price). It would be nice a short description of each feature.

DVD-A (newer audio format)
DCDi (Progressive scan Faroudja chip, 3:2 pulldown)
Component Video Out (High res video output)
DVI out (High res video output)
6 analog audio outs (Needed for SACD and DVD-A use)
Optical Digital Audio Out (Needed for external DD/DTS decoding)
Coaxial Digital Audio out (Needed for external DD/DTS decoding)
