Would these drivers work well??
All are Audax drivers
Center
1 1" SHIELDED PURE TITANIUM DOME TWEETER
1 5-1/4" FIBERGLASS CONE WOOFER
2 6-1/2" FIBERGLASS CONE WOOFER
Configured similar to this
http://www.madisound.com/audaxhometheater.html
The 2 mains basically like this
1 1" SHIELDED PURE TITANIUM DOME TWEETER
2 5-1/4" FIBERGLASS CONE WOOFER
2 6-1/2" FIBERGLASS CONE WOOFER
Going tmm ... mm with the tmm (5 1/4) at the top and the mm (6.5) at the bottom
Thinking of trying these out to see how they would sound. I don't need to worry about a passive crossover.. I would use a 300 and a 3000 crossover point. Does that sound good?
Thanks
Ted

Not 100% sure about what you are trying to do exactly. I would say look at the Freq. resp. of the drivers to see if you can run them that high, 3K.

The response graphs look OK.

The total price for these drivers is $201.00. I am building a active x-over so I do not have to worry about the passive crossover network. Looking at the charts it looks like a x-over of 300 and 2700,2800 would be right.
I just am wondering if these speakers would sound decent together. Would they be better or worse than some decent Paradigms. Like the monitor line.
Thanks
Ted

Active or passive it doesn't matter what you use, but make sure that you can impliment baffle step compensation. Otherwise your speakers are not going to sound right.

Don't trust the mfgr's FR plots for designing the XO's.

Charts aren't a good method for chosing XO's.

Proper XO design starts with the drivers being measured in the baffles where they are going to be used. Based on those measurements the XO slopes and XO points should be chosen.
