Ahh...it was 1998-1999, the golden days of cheap online DVD deals. I used to hang on the forum sites for any news of cheap DVDs and coupons galore. Those were the days...(But I knew those days wouldn't last).
It's probably why I rang up so many DVDs in those early years, now I'm lucky if I buy one DVD/week.

Absolutely!
It really is amazing. It was like all the really good online DVD deals stopped almost overnight. A bunch of companies went belly up.
Now, it is quite difficult to find an online price that is any cheaper (after shipping and handling) than B&M stores such as Best Buy, especially if BB has a DVD on sale.
I still buy DVD's online some, usually with DeepDiscountDVD.com but the deals are nowhere near as good as they were about 2 years ago!

I am so relieved that I joined the club when the deals were good. I got so much for so little.
I wish those days were back for more than just that reason. Tons of prosperity everywhere.

Man I miss those coupon deals, my wallet doesn't though

My thoughts exactly. Back then DVDs were cheaper which tempted me to buy everything, but now I put some thought into those purchases. My average price per disc has gone up a few dollars, but I bought ten times as many titles back then.

Sure.
But, then again, I work for an etailer [that doesn't sell DVDs], and I would probably be looking for another job if my employer had taken those tactics. So, um, I'll cast a vote for fiscal sanity.
