Is it just color or something else?

Any place I could get one new or is it another RP-82 deal; long gone?

The full part name is XP30S, the S indicates "silver" color which is the only color the XP30 comes in. The Panasonic RP82, XP30, XP50 were all discontinued last year. I bought one used on EBAY - thats your only option. Some EBAY sales say one is "new, unopened box" but command very high prices in that case. Expect $200-300 for a used model, higher for a "new, unopened" one.

Alson on Ebay, I seen listing in "non-working" conditions. I would still say, buy it anyways, just pay for the repairs and it works like a charm!

Beware of buying a broken older Panasonic DVD player - Panasonic's service centers lately feel its not worth it for them to fix the good old models (RP62,RP82,XP30,XP50) and usually replace it with an inferior newer model!
