I have just viewed two copies of Criterion's LORD OF THE FLIES and both disks have flaws in them. The first disk starting pixilating at the 42 minute mark and then froze the picture with a high pitched noise. When I returned the disk, the dealer looked at the playing surface and saw evidence of what might be a "bad pressing". He gave me the option of taking a new disk and I did. While this second copy plays fine during the movie, the "deleted scene" has a glitch consisting of pixilation and momentary screen freeze. While this is a significant improvement over the first disk, this is certainly not standard for Criterion.
