Fair enough, but I can't buy a DVD of a movie, when I know a Blu-ray of the same movie titles is in the market place.
Yes that’s the way I feel, but $15 per title for a Criterion made me bite. I just hope the 2 widescreen films aren’t letterboxed- some early release Criterion DVDs weren’t anamorphic.

By the way, I've passed on this flash sale because there was only one BD title that I had to have in my collection. Perhaps, better luck next time for me.
Same with me. I've been buying all along (the ones I didn't review, that is), so my needs at the present time are very small.

Same here. The two I had been considering are the recent Netflix Scorsese titles and since I still have Netflix, I can just watch them there if the mood strikes before the next round of sales.

Well I guess if you want these six ow OOPs you’re not getting them cheaply. Don’t see any sales currently.

Are there any othEr Paramounts in criterion we should be worried about?

Someone else mentioned Friends of Eddie Coyle -- also Paramount and also now list Currently Unavailable at Criterion, but not on the OOP list. Also stock very very light at other retailers.
Honestly I'm not sure how to filter out Criterions by original studio

No sales that I can find and very little stock of the few I checked for. Amazon has a couple for 27.99 and a couple 39.99
B&N online has almost all of them at full price -- in store is hard to tell since a lot of Criterions often of 20-30% off instore regardless of the online price. At least they seem to have stock for now

I didn't see anything in stock at BestBuy.com.

Deep Discount appear to be backordered or just flat missing listing of a bunch of these. That makes me wonder if the ALLIANCE WAREHOUSE that supplies 80% of online retailers is really empty. If that's the case B&N will likely sell/ship direct store shelf stock which means that supply will likely be depleted quickly even at $40

Independent Bullmoose looks to be empty. .
Independent Zia Records has at least a couple titles in stock

Target which uses Ingram instead of ALLIANCE seems to be OOS.

ObstructedView -- Canada does seem to have some stock as well for the Canadians

Wish we had gotten a heads up about this but I think I have most of the titles id be interested in that are or will be OOP soon. Looks like I might have to scour B&N stores for Nashville though. I assume Parallax View will stick around for awhile since it was just released.

Not like I can say this with authority but I'd think that Parallax or any movie would be available for at least a year (and probably far longer) before their licensing deal is up.

Whoa. Is this list a combination of OOP titles and other Paramount titles that may be at risk of going OOP; or are all of these titles about to be yanked?

Greater clarities towards that end would be helpful.

"Nashville"'s OOP? Dangnabbit! I wanted to get it during one of the past few 50% off sales but didn't have enough $$ and/or other titles took priority each time. I'm sure there are still plenty of copies in existence, but unfortuntly that won't stop Ebay or Amazn sellers from charging insane prices

that's just the Paramount titles, if you have a day, to go through each spine number you will find a few more that are no longer available, case in point "Pandora's Box" which was released only on DVD, my hope was that it was unavailable because a HD upgrade may be forthcoming.

as for a few of those i don't see Paramount ending the licensing of them as quickly as others, think Robinson Crusoe on Mars is safe, well i am not taking chances next B&N sale. right now The Parallax View is the only one I feel safe about. After years of dragging their feet and not really releasing any deep catalog titles, Paramount has stepped up to releasing titles, the issue is that release would pale in comparison to a Criterion level involvement disc.

The list I posted is just of the current Paramount licenses with nothing else implied other than noting which ones are recently OOP, when the DVD-only versions were released and Blu-rays were reissued (when applicable).

Given that we're still at less than 20 overall Blu-rays that have gone permanently OOP with Criterion, I don't think there's too much to be alarmed about. I honestly expected Fox titles to be the first ones to have several go OOP.

I sent an email on Monday asking about seven Paramount titles (the six that are now OOP and Medium Cool) that were showing up as currently unavailable and yesterday I got a response that said those six are OOP, which I knew by then, and confirmed that Medium Cool is not going OOP:
MEDIUM COOL Blu-Rays will be restocked around mid April and there are no current plans for this title to be out of print.

I forgot to include The Friends of Eddie Coyle on the list of titles that I asked about, but I would assume it is in the same boat as Medium Cool.
