Thanks Jack and again to you all.

I remain paranoid about burn-in. However I figure that if I get something cheap enough and it lasts 3 years I'd be satisfied, considering my current set is going on 15 years, I can afford a bit less longevity after what I've gotten out of this one.

Is burn in as sensitive as it was, say two years ago? Have there been any imporvements or is it still strictly a matter of calibration and mixed media?

From a service standpoint the panasonic, mitsu, and hitachi are all very close (they are the only 3 rptv manufacturers to build every part of the set)
