Can anyone explain the eq settings on my 4es? (1 Viewer)

I usually leave everything flat but with my wife and kid away for a couple of days, i might as well play a little. Can someone explain to me the different settings on the 4es? Thx.

I’m not familiar with this particular model, Josh, but if it works like other Sony receivers it’s not so much an equalizer as it is sophisticated bass, midrange and treble controls. For each you can select a center frequency –say 400Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz for the midrange control, for instance. You select the frequency you want to adjust, then boost or cut the desired dB value with the level control.

The bass and treble controls are typically “shelving” – meaning, everything above (for the treble) and below (for the bass) are boosted and cut.
