Is there any way of calibrating a projection tv if you do not have a dvd player

You'll be able to tighten up service convergence and focus but off the top of my head that's about all you'll be able to do effectively. The next question is, given the dramatic improvement in image quality over VHS or basic satellite and the availability of bargain-priced players, why not go and buy a unit?

I definitely plan to in the near future but was just wondering what i can do before i get it. Actually i'm very confused about progressive scan dvd and the compatibility with my set and what progressive scan actuallyis. I have a Toshiba 55hx70 that i got just last week and don't want to get some junky DVD.
