I recently found two old 6 disc CD changers in my basement; one by Marantz and the other by Sharp. When setting them up, I noticed that they look very similar. Being the inquisitive type, I cracked them open, and sure enough, they were identical. The only difference I can see is the DAC. The Sharp has an Analog Devices AD1856N and the Marantz has a Burr Brown PCM56P. A quick search on Google didn't help much, but it did tell me that both are stereo 16-bit DACs. Since neither player has a digital PCM out, I would assume that the DAC plays a major role in how it sounds. Can anyone tell me which one is sonically superior?

Again - the players are IDENTICAL save the DACs.

Thanks
