Anybody ever go there. Recommendations on where to stay, what to see, where to eat.

How much cash should I expect if we go for 5 days.

Was it worth it compared to other short vacations.

I lived there during the 80's, but it's changed so much, I hardly recognize it.

Silver Dollar City is still pretty cool.

There are so many music shows, it really depends on your likes. We loved Andy Williams show, despite being in our 30's. The local people shows (Baldknobbers, Presleys) are still very popular.

There are so many hotels, I couldn't give a good recommendation.

Lots of shopping, lots of attractions.

Go to Table Rock Dam, it's really beautiful out there.

Have fun!

I thought I resurrect this thread since my wife and I are thing of going there in a couple of weeks. A real short trip. Drive up from Little Rock on Sat morning, see a show, stay the night, return on Sunday.

I checked out Yakov's schedule and he doesn't have any shows until April. Anyone care to make recommendations on shows to see and where to stay?

I've never been there but my parents, who are in their 50s/60s, have gone there several times and love it. They've gone to the Osmonds show, the Andy Williams show, and the guy who sings Blue Velvet (I forget his name).

My wife and I saw Andy Williams a few years ago, and amazingly loved the show. While we were the only ones in the audience not on Social Security, the show is fast paced, well done, and a lot of fun.

If you go to Silver Dollar City you need to go on a tour of Marvel Cave. I would also second the Table Rock Dam recommedation. It's very pretty when the sun is setting!
