Bookshelf for $500-$700: Help please (1 Viewer)

I am looking for a bookshelf system for my living room.

I want to keep the price at around $500-$700.

It is not a huge room and I would like bookshelf speakers because of their ability to remain tastefully out of the way.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should be looking?

We listen to blues, jazz (New Orleans style) and generally anything but heavy rock.

I was looking at the B&W line in that range and the Polk line in that range this weekend.

How many speakers does a "system" make up? Do you need a sub, as well?

2 speakers only, no sub.

I am running them from a dual amplifier Yahama unit on the second floor.
