I was just watching another mindnumbingly stupid variety/game show on Univision. Does anyone else watch them?
I don't understand a word they say, but they always seem to have one or two old guys in suits, surrounded by a bunch of scantily clad young, pretty women. Is this stuff really popular with this part of the american population? I can see why idiots like me would watch it just to see the girls, but does their target audience really enjoy this crap?
In today's show, the segment I watched was like this: old fat guy in t-shirt stands in a mud-filled pool. Bihind him are four girls in bikinis, facing away from the camera, so all we se are their butts (they are leaning forward). He turns the first girl around, asks her some questions (to which one the answer apparently was "Bonga, bonga". I have no clue what that question might have been). When he's done, he pushes her into the mud, goes on to the next girl, repeats the procedure (the answer this time was "wonga, wonga" or similar), and does this for all the girls. After getting the four girls into the mud, he goes on to ask the fifth "girl" something, and she turns out to be a fat old guy (he was never shown in the TV screen) who the audience seemed to recognize. Hilarity ensues.
Then, the mudwrestling starts. The audienced chants and cheers, while these two old fat guys are frolicking around in the mud with these bikini babes. After a few minutes of this, the segment is over.
OK, this could be shown on F/X at 11 PM (maybe) on English-language stations, but seems to be family entertainment on the Spanish language stations.
I just find it odd, that's all...
