"Beautiful Mind" weak sound (1 Viewer)

This disc really has weak sound. Even a cable television
signal is stronger. Just to hear it at a decent sound
level requires turning my preamp past the normal "THX"
volume level where most discs would be producing at
least 80db on the voices. I wonder why they recorded it
at such a low level?

It's not really the kind of movie that needs an agressive soundtrack.

I'm not talking about the agressiveness of the soundtrack,
I'm talking about the overall recording level. That is
a different issue.

Not only that, the sound design is very subtle. I remember from seeing it in the theater. Once you get it up to normal levels it's pretty good. It's not demo material of course but it's very decent.

yes it does have VERY low sound.

so does the score CD.

= annoying.

Funny, I listened at my normal listening level and it sounded fine to me. I especially love the high frequency effects, like when he hit his head on the window, and when the spys were shooting at the car breaking the windows.
