I am planning a bachelor party for my buddy in two weeks. I have never been to one so I need some help!!! I have been out of work for 11 months so cost is a consideration. I am looking at having a group of 10 to 12 close friends.

We do like to drink, strippers/strip club is a must, budget has to be reasonable, and I still want his girlfriend to marry him after it is over!!!!

Ideas?

sounds like you've got it figured out already:

Booze & porn
Food & Booze
Strippers & booze

You might wanna throw in an early round of golf or paintball or something like that.

Be a true friend and DON'T allow the use of a camcorder at the party. Even with the best intentions, sometimes parties get out of hand with booze/strippers around and if it's on tape the marriage might not happen. Even if the groom has nothing to do with a stripper it is a reflection on him as far as most brides are concerned. Just better to play it safe.

Well, from what I remember of the strip clubs in Thunder Bay Canada......you're already set. Those clubs were, IMHO, much better than the clubs in the Twin Cities. The other idea would be to rent a cheap 15 passenger van from a "rent-a-wreck" company. Just make sure you have a designated driver or hire someone. I did this for my best friends bachelor party. Another idea would be to hire some strippers to come to your house....ah the memories...Sorry, I digress. Now obviously that would involve more money but the money saved from the bars might be worth a look see. Just have an "entry fee" and that should offset the costs. I don't know of a guy that would balk at a $25 entry fee for a "private club". Needless to say the strippers that come to your house have less "rules" then if they were at an establishment. ;) You can then buy the beer-alcohol from a liquor store.
Another idea: force the bachelor to wear a straw cowboy hat where ever you go and state to him that he has to find something to go on the hat from every bar. We did this once and it was a blast. We ended up with a
bra, name tag from Hooters that said "Santa", and other unmentionables.

Good luck and keep us informed of the outcome ;)

Some women don't like bachelor parties because they don't like strippers. I know many women, myself included, that are perfectly fine with strip clubs but absolutly WILL NOT tolerate a hired stripper to come back to a hotel room. Also, if you know that your buddy says "no" to something, say strippers, forcing him to do it will only make matters worse. We brides (ok, I was one 6 weeks ago) expect the groom's buddies to have a bit of fun, yes. However, I'm sure the groom knows what is ok with his future wife and what isn't. If he says "no" to something, either because he really doesn't want to do it or because he knows his fiance will be upset, then please respect his decision. You'll either piss the groom off or anger the bride, neither of which you want. I was fortunate that my husband's friends asked me first if it was ok. I actually know a few brides that called off the wedding due to what happened at the bachelor party.

James, if you are close enough with the bride I'd ask her if there is anything off-limits. I say as long as the bride is cool with what you have planned and the groom agrees to everything, go for it and have fun.

Booze boobs and brats, thats all you really need.
I planned a bachelor party last year, rented a limo, got hammered and we went to strip club, probably the safest option. Nobody drives, and can't get groom into trouble.

i disagree on the filming aspect. i recommend filming the entire evening, and then editing down to show us HTForum members the 'highlights'...

Make sure your friend won't mind the strippers/strip club aspect before you plan it. Some men think that kind of shenanigans are oogey (for lack of a better term). You don't have to objectify women to have a good time at a bachelor party.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If/when there's one thrown for me (not that I'm getting married any time soon!) I don't want beer, I don't want strippers, I don't want any of that. Playing a couple of rounds of golf or something like that, something relaxing, would be a better route.. check with him/her to see how they want things done.

Don't forget the industrial saran wrap you use for wrapping boxes on pallets for shipment. It has many good uses at a batchelor party. :D

At one bachelor party I atteneded, we chained a 10 pound bowling ball to the grooms leg and we had his wife's name on the ball. Everywhere he went, he either had to carry it or drag it around. :)
It was funny as hell watching him hold his "ball and chain" while getting lapdances. :)
