Let's pretend that you like Cambridge Soundworks products.
Lets also pretend that you purchased the Mick Fleetwood Model 12 Portable Speeaker system.

You want to use it as a system in a room, and have portable flexibility.

So, you want a portable DVD player. That way you have your audio covered, and video if you want to hook up a display later.

What is there available for a portable-type DVD player that one could use?
Everything seen has a stupid mini LCD screen.
One could use a component player, but most of those aren't designed for portability.
Or is that irrelevant, and any modern DVD player should suffice?

If you can't find one without a screen, then a regular component player is your only option. There is no shortage off slim, low-profile models to choose from - throw it in a computer bag and voila, it's portable.

Yeah, there are some pretty small (about 9" wide) component players from various non brand name companies.
