ASUS 7100 Pure --do I need a DVD Decoder card also? (1 Viewer)

Today's nVidia and ATI cards do a MUCH better job at DVD than separate decoder cards. Just make sure you have at least about a 500 Mhz CPU.

Well, I have the V7100 Pure and a P3 500 + 384MB RAM and it didn't seem to run too well. For the most part it ran smoothly, but every now and then throughout the movie it would get a little laggy.
Maybe it was do to some other factors, but I've been under the impression that you need around a 1GHz CPU + good video card to playback DVD's smoothly.

(I have a 1Ghz T-Bird, and 256-ECC Ram, so it looks like I'll be ok.) -it won't be for primary viewing of DVDs, I just wanna be able to watch 'em if I want to in the computer room.
