I'm taking this with a grain of salt. I still remember all the talk of Disney buying Apple, Apple buying Sun, Apple buying Palm, etc. this does seem to fit into Apple's recent foray into downloadable music, though.

According to the article, Universal Music controls one quarter of worldwide CD sales.

Apple rumors are some of the most fun on the Internet. I read this one with my morning news (does anyone buy newspapers anymore? ). It shocked me a bit more than other recent Apple rumors. This one just seems far fetched.
