I am a bit weary on details of what comes out on DVD this year. I have already got these DVD's in mind though:
Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (going out of print soon!!!)
Pearl Harbor:4 disc Director's cut
LOTR:The Fellowship of The Ring (ok so it hasn't even been announced)
But really are their any good films that are coming out. They can be bare-bones and almost any genre type.
Thanks

Well, I'm really stoked about Ingmar Bergman's WILD STRAWBERRIES, due out next month from Criterion. And on the other end of the spectrum, JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK comes out two weeks later!

My other upcoming must-haves include: SECONDS, A.I., PETER PAN: Special Edition and SAY ANYTHING. And I still need the TWIN PEAKS set and the recent Criterion Hitchcocks... and now that the msrp on LOST WEEKEND and THE MIRACLE WORKER have been drastically reduced, I'll need those too.... plus the SILLY SYMPHONIES and MICKEY MOUSE tins...

Man, good thing I've got a tax return coming!

Klute and Ghostworld on 2/5 (how's that for a pairing?). And the first season of The Larry Sanders Show on 2/26.

After this month there isn't anything that really grabs me. I might pick up AI and Bad News Bears. Other than that it looks like I'll be saving some money for a few months.

For January, I've got MASH, Buffy S1, and Atlantis SE on my list.

February is Peter Pan SE & Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back

March is AI & Disney Hunchback of Notre dame.

Other Q1 catalog titles that people seemed jazzed-up for include Beverly Hills Cop, Tombstone Vista Series, Tron SE & Anchor Bay's Evil Dead "kitchen sink" edition.

I don't see a lot of exciting new releases, although I will be at least renting Ghost World, which sounds interesting.

I actually don't mind things being a little slow since I still have not caught up with all of the Q4 2001 releases I am interested in. I can't bring myself to drop the ducats on The Elephant Man or the Criterion Rebecca when I still have unwatched discs piling up, but it's only a matter of time, now. Christmas discs plus the arrival of seven Sopranos episodes and the first six Decalogue films from Netflix during the holiday week have slowed me down a little, too. I seem to be betraying my collector mentality by trying to watch the discs before buying more.

From my own spreadsheet. All dates are subject to change; some are inferred and not announced. If you haven't heard of a date somewhere else, assume I made it up for my own purposes! :D
Plus, there's a number of things I haven't put on here yet.

Around the World in Eighty Days: Special Edition is coming either Q4 2002 or Q1 2003.

From what I've heard, it'll be as good as WB's Doctor Zhivago DVD. There's tons of possible extras (The Library of Congress has hours of trims, bloopers, behind the scenes footage, and other neat things for the film.) If you'll check ebay out for stuff on this film, there's a really neat souvenier (sic) booklet that was given out during the Todd-AO roadshow run. It would be ideal if WB re-created the booklet for the DVD. I'd like to see a "Cameo spotter" feature (subtitle) that has each cameo's name appear on the screen so you can spot who is who (even though the excellent ending credit sequence kind of covers it.)
