I have a B&K av6000 amp connected to the pre-outs on my denon receiver. One of the channels is creating a static/crackling sound on one of the channels. I've even unhooked the pre-out/main in on the amp and the crackling sound still continues. If I switch to a different speaker output on the amp, the sound disappears. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

There must be a loose contact on that particular speaker terminal or the output states of that terminal could be fried. Check the speaker output fuse. Also check if tha banana connector is loose or something. If you are out of warranty you could open the amp up and check the interior of the output stages. If you still have warranty call up B&K and they are pretty prompt to answer any questions you might have. They have on occasion even repaired amps out of warranty. so give them a try.
