adding background music to a VCR tape (1 Viewer)

I have a VCR/DVD combo recorder and a friend wants to add music to the DVD
while I dub VCR to DVD.
What is the best way to do this?

It all depends on your specific model. My guess is you will need to hook something up to the audio input, but how it knows to take the audio from there on not the tape is something you will have to look in the owners manual to see how to do.
