Essential film(s)

If your a fan of Scorsese's Hugo it's a valuable supplement, if you didn't already purchase the previous version (with a soundtrack by "Air")

I'm hoping they will let the user choose which score to use with the tint restoration version ... Otherwise it's well worth the investment ....

I was hoping they add some additional Melies (along with the three currently on the disc) titles to this release to justify a double dip ...

The DVD Melies sets are much better than this one. This really isn't a collection of Melies shorts... It's a feature length documentary on the restoration of one short with three shorts as extras. The DVD sets are packed with the shorts, and that's probably what people want, not a documentary they'll watch once and set on the shelf.

Apparently the main soundtrack to this one is going to be another experimental track by a DJ/Synth band.

Jeff Mills

Dorian Pimpernel

Hopefully the piano score will be OK.
