Although Dan O'Bannon may be best known for his effects and writing work, (think Alien, Life-force, et al), he created a fan favorite in 1985 with his comedic horror production, The Return of the Living Dead.
Previously available on Blu on the MGM label, Scream Factory's new release features a new 2k IP scan that makes a worthwhile upgrade. That and a ton of new extras.
Color, densities, grain structure all appear fine for the type of film, especially with sequences shot on high speed stock. No problems here.
If that's not enough, you get (absolutely free), America's reigning "scream queen," Linnea Quigley.
A fun film, and another quality offering from Shout / Scream Factory.

Audio - 5
4k Up-rez - 4.5
Pass / Fail - Pass
