Fans of Robert Altman are an incorrigible bunch, and I count myself among them.
Since he arrived in the personal style that many of us love in 1970, with M*A*S*H, in which numerous conversations occurr simultaneously, we've been presented with enough classics to neatly place in that special pantheon of filmmakers with a singular voice.
Think McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Player, Short Cuts, California Split, Nashville, A Wedding - everyone should be able to find a favorite in his work.
Kansas City arrived in 1996, neatly between Ready to Wear and The Gingerbread Man, with Jennifer Jason Leigh, Miranda Richardson, and Harry Belafonte (of that extraordinary voice, and still with us at 94) in the leads.
Arrow releases are generally high on quality as well as extras, and Kansas City, which was strangely actually shot in Kansas City, is no exception.
Image as well as audio quality are superb.
