Anybody seen the new 73" Mitsus in the flesh? I understand that production doesn't begin for 2-4 weeks but I am curious as to whether the Platinum version is worth an extra $1000 over the Gold. Main difference is cabinet - big deal - and '5-element Tru-Focus' lenses which probably ARE a big deal.

My dealer has a couple on order, an '03 on the floor running Mark Cuban's HDNet programming. Looks spectacular.

I've heard there's a Mits 80" out there too, but it runs like $25K... may be the unicorn of TVs.

It was just a poor attempt at humor. Sorry I didn't have anything constructive to add, but I'm jealous that you are in the market for the high end sets.

Jeez, I'd like to but $20K....

The dealer says he has 2 coming and one is already sold. How smart would you feel if/when the price goes down to $10K in 9 months?
