Thinking about adding an external amp to my Onkyo 797. It has a 12V trigger, but it says zone 2 on it, so I am confused, do you all turn your seprate amps on manually, walking over to it and turning it on? I noticed the 2802 and 3802 do not have 12V triggers, how do you turn your amps on? I guess I really don't have a choice unless I can figure out that zone 2 tigger on my 797 before I buy the amp. Any help...how do you do it?

You could possibly use macros to turn on your amp. As long as it in line-of-site. The 797 does have connections for IR repeaters if your amp is out of the way. You could buy a set of these cables/IR flashers.
This method would work for you. :) :emoji_thumbsup:

Kyle,

I all depends on the amp you are going to use. I have Rotel RMB-1066 that has a 12v trigger as well as a signal sense. When I had my Denon 1801 it didn't have a 12v trigger so I picked up a 6v(300Ma) power adapter and plugged that into the back of my Denon and then into the 12v trigger of the amp. Everytime the reciever turned on so did the amp. Now with my Marantz AV560U pre/pre, I use the signal sense instead.
