If you like funky, DJ music in the Thievery Corporation mold, you MUST pick up:

Ocean's 11 Soundtrack

and

Out of Sight Soundtrack

Only one of them is new, but I have been listening to them a LOT lately. Also, Thievery Corporation owns you. I own all of their CDs. (2 Brazillian DJs that live in DC and own a club there, VERY lounge, it's pimp, you are GUARANTEED to look sophisticated if you bust out some Thievery Corporation to a lady)

It seems that the concept and popularity of the soundtrack album has been reinvented.

With "Rushmore", I love the way Wes Anderson has used not the most popular genre rock music songs, for his films, that actually have meaning to the film.

I'm sure there are more of these soundtracks out there.

I really liked the Out of Sight soundtrack. I take it that the Oceans 11 soundtrack is similar in style?
