This may be a longshot, but does anyone know if these 2 skits are available on any of the sets?:
1. Carol sings "I Feel the Earth Move" during an earthquake.
2. Carol shouts (to guest Helen Reddy) "Helen, Ready?"
Deep Discount has it for $50, plus and additional 10% this week. I figured the packaging was inferior, plus i really dislike the cover art. My only reason for buying it is for the Brady Brides and The Bradys, so for less than $50 it's a good deal.
There probably weren't as many complaints about the aspect ratio problem upon initial release, but now on the newer TVs and players the AR is all screwed up. I'm just hoping that Criterion (or some other studio) releases the remainder of the material from these sets, including The Circus.
Thanks for the info. I tried changing the aspect ratio on both my TV and blu-ray player, but while the image changes to 4:3 the picture is stretched and still cut off on top to bottom. This is a newer Samsung model and I've tried everything. I think I'm just going to have to give in and upgrade...
I know this is a really old thread, but this also plays widescreen on my player. I still have not figured out how to correct it on my Sony player/Samsung TV. I am thinking of upgrading to the Criterion blu-rays, but some of the films in that are in the second set are no longer available so I...
There was mention somewhere of another version of the Grease Collection available at Walmart that comes in a standard plastic case and includes a slipcover and the booklet from the "yearbook" edition. Has anyone seen this?
This seems to be a HDMI handshake issue. The HDCP code is causing audio dropouts via the Sony blu-ray player. No way around this so I guess I'll be returning the TV and keep my smaller, earlier model that hasn't been updated with this encoding.
Ok, so I'm still having irregular audio dropouts even after changing the HDMI cable. I don't know what to do, or what settings. This is really frustrating to me because I really like the TV. The picture looks great, but I cannot enjoy a blu-ray or DVD with audio dropouts happening every 30...
So I've ruled out that it has anything to do with the soundbar connection to the TV since I am able to watch streaming movies from the smart TV with no issues. I am still having problems with the blu-ray player. I have tried 2 different ones now Sony BDP-S1100 and Sony BDP-S3700, updated the...
I am having audio dropouts which happen periodically where the sound with cut out for half a second. I am connecting using the Vizio Soundbar (model SB2920-C6). I have it connected via audio optical cable. I have even replaced the cable and still have the same issue. The Vizio Soundbar worked...

Hi Bruce, I remember you from episodes of The Partridge Family. I last saw Donna a few years ago at a Taylor Negron's art exhibition, which took place shortly before his passing. She looked great. I asked her if she knew anything about a possible release of Angie on DVD of which she didn't know...
I don't know why they even have to be Warner Archive. I would think these would be popular enough to warrant a regular release, but at this point I'll take anything over the pan & scan DVD.
Out of curiosity, how does Warner determine what gets released as archive and what gets released regularly?
I'm wondering when Private Benjamin will be released on blu-ray. The film was a hit when released in theatres, but all that exists is a pan & scan DVD. There are a number of other Goldie Hawn titles that have not been released as well: Seems Like Old Times, Swing Shift, Foul Play, Wildcats...
Thanks. Good thing to know about buying MOD titles off Amazon. Even the case these came in was flimsy and not like those I've gotten before from Warner Archive. I've sent it back and will re-order from WA once they go on sale again. Hopefully we'll soon get the final season too.
I received my order of Growing Pains seasons 4-6 which I ordered off Amazon and I noticed the sixth season set was DVD-Rs as opposed to the pressed DVDs like seasons 4 and 5. Also the sixth season set had "manufactured by Amazon" printed on the barcode. I'm wondering if anyone else who may have...
I'm hanging onto my DVD set until State Fair and Carousel are released. I'm happy to have the DVD versions included along with the blu-ray, especially in the case of The King and I because of the color issue on the blu. A nice job with the stand-alone packaging and cover designs/slipcovers as...
I just bought the stand-alone editions of Oklahoma and South Pacific. Both are 4-Disc sets that each include 2 blu-rays and 2 DVDs. The King and I is also available as a 3-disc set (1 blu-ray and 2 DVDs). I'm hoping State Fair and Carousel with get stand-alone editions as well.
Interesting. This website lists the collectors edition as having 130 performances and the 6-disc edition as having 96. I'm curious as to what is missing from the latter set.
And yes, I wouldn't mind losing the Helen Reddy performances...
I've noticed a Midnight Special 6-Disc DVD box set will be released this Tuesday (and will be on sale at Best Buy). Does anyone know the difference in content for this package from the 11-Disc collector's edition available directly from Time/Life? There is a listing of everything included in the...
I ended up cancelling my order before it was shipped. Very unhappy with the way the King and I looked in those screenshots. I can see the ugly blue tint the minute I looked at them. The film looks better on DVD in terms of color. The fact that the second disc in the Sound of Music set was not...
I wonder why mine still says pre-order. Did anyone else request free shipping?
...and for those of you who receive yours today please let us know what is there as far as extras.
