Check out this Belkin surge protector, good?

I have that Belkin surge protector. I got the newer model (I think) from Microcenter for about $70-80 with 10 outlets. So far I like it a lot and it looks great. I can't say the power conditioning made the "picture and sound cleaner" like it claims although you can't really expect it to...

    Coaxial protection on surge protector

I recently bought a surge protector for my setup that has coaxial protection with it. I use an antenna for OTA digital channels with a built-in ATSC tuner in the TV. If I plug the antenna into this "in/out" circuit, will it pass the required bandwidth needed for HD signals? Or does this circuit...

    CableCard

I emailed Time Warner Cable (Houston) and the response I received was that they are currently in development. They didn't give any specific date of availability. Think I could offer my tv for prototype testing and receive free cable? :D

    another vid Q

I would think the TV would have it in case your DVD player didn't, right? That way it can convert the film based movie from your DVD at the TV instead of at the DVD. So I guess as long as you had a DVD player with the feature then you wouldn't need to worry about it being a requirement on...

    HD Input Calibration?

How would this apply to TVs with a built-in HDTV tuner? Since the over-the-air HDTV isn't really on a separate input (or any input at all), one cannot calibrate the HD signals separately from the non-HD, right? My set has a setting in the user-level controls that will switch the color balance...

Noise on High Def channels, and Audio Cuts in and Out on Digital Channels.

I have been wondering this as well. I have a cheapo splitter on my antenna. The OTA HD seems fine, looks good with full signal. From what I have gathered, you need the 2Ghz splitters for digital cable and satellite signals and would assume this would apply to over-the-air digital channels and...

    Faint horizontal bar problem

After doing a little more research on what you said, it is probably the fact that my dvd player is plugged into a separate surge protector than my tv (causing a potential ground loop). It may simply be fixed by plugging them both into the same outlet! I will try it tonight.

    Faint horizontal bar problem

I don't have a cable or satellite connection although I do have an attic antenna connected for OTA HDTV. The antenna isn't grounded in any way, just suspended in the attic. I will see if unplugging it makes a difference. Thanks

    Faint horizontal bar problem

I figure this is more of a noise/connection issue rather than a display issue... When advancing through the AVIA test patterns with white areas, I notice very faint (slightly darker than white) horizontal bars. These areas seem to shift and move whenever I press forward to advance to the next...

    PT53WX53 Problem

Does anybody know if Panasonic's "Image Shift" actually shifts the entire image around every so often? If it does, I want to turn it off because it will always be moving my overscan amount around. Also, it seems the convergence might get messed up everytime it did it. I have noticed that it...

    signal loss from splitters

Hi Wayne, That is what I thought regarding the signal loss...just wanted to make sure I wouldn't affect that wonderful HD content! On the same lines I would assume upgrading any RG59 cable im using to RG6 wouldn't improve anything either, right? As long as I'm getting the signal fine now...

    Issues/questions about built-in atsc tuner

Yeah, I am happy with the tuner also. I have been watching the OTA HD content and its great. I don't like the fact that you can't stretch the digital channels when they are displaying 4:3 material. For those that aren't tied into a internal tuner, they have the option of using using another...

    signal loss from splitters

My antenna is currently connected directly to my HDTV (with an internal ATSC tuner). I usually get full signal for all my local digital channels. I would like to add a splitter at the antenna to connect a bedroom tv and another splitter behind the HDTV so I can program the digital channels on...

    Issues/questions about built-in atsc tuner

My HDTV (Panasonic PT-53WXD63) has a built in tuner and I have a question. Obviously, with these sets one does not need an external set-top box and expensive component, dvi, firewire, etc... cables to transfer the decoded digital channels to the display. I am curious how this connection is...

    Panasonic Firmware update

I have the same model and have also noticed the available update. I haven't noticed any problems with the optical output so far but would like to know exactly what issues this update resolves. I don't want to have to buy an SD card if I don't have to. I would also have to buy an adapter (usb?)...
