Does anyone know of a DVD recorder available to the public for purchase that will easily convert my 8mm homevideo to DVD and create the menu/chapters at the beginning .... the ones you typically get when you PAY someone to convert your video to DVD....? The info on the Sony DVdirect implies...

Good point...but it's more that that...it also happens if ABC broadcasts a show that is not in Dolby...they still send the dolby flag with the program and the end result is that the show itself is unwatchable due to the volume abnormality.

Thanks...once I get the phono pre-amp, can I just plug it any open "port" on the receiver....I don't use my CD player on this setup, so I was thinking of routing it through there....? ---John

Okay....I didn't think this one out. I now have a nice space to hook-up my old turntable and show my son what a record is, but I have a Onyko TX-SR600, and it doesn't have a Phono input...can I just plug the turntable into the CD input?..or am I at a dead-end here untill I upgrade...? Any...
