Since this thread resurfaced, I'll fill everyone in on what happened. My Panasonic 47wx53 exploded. It snapped and popped one Sunday and then I smelled burning electronics. The guy from Fry's came out and said it was shot. They were going to replace the tv since I was in Fry's 30 day replacement...

It would be much easier (and cheaper) to find a good used complete rearend and swap it out. I almost did this with my Z28 but I found a deal on gears.

I called last Monday and they just came out to look at it this Saturday (today). It will be replaced this week.

Mine just died and they are replacing the whole thing. The problem I had was that it made an audible "snap" then no more picture. It was/is fried.

Split the coax cable before it gets to the cable box and hook that up to your tv.

Well, I was watching tv tonight and POP! SNAP! then I was looking at a blank screen. I just sat there wondering WTF just happened. The red power light on the tv was slowly blinking. Then the smell of burning electronics hit me. I jumped up and unplugged the set and looked it over to make sure...

I dunno... maybe I was looking for white wire on the wrong day. I must have went to 3 different Home Depot's and 3 differnet Lowe's including all the local BB's and home theater stores. Nobody had any white wire. However, I had neglected to check any of the CC's and I found some there. :)...
