Came across it on the Sears website. The website claims that "VOOM is the most complete provider of HDTV anywhere, bringing you four times more HD programming than any service in existence." Here is the link to the website: http://www.sears.com/sr/framework/ho...seBVCookie=Yes Anyone know...
Thanks for everyone's reply. I have a two new question now. 1. I will be hooking up the roof antenna (I know, I know) to the monitor to watch TV. I would like to get the sound through the 5.1 speakers. I assume that I will need to use a cable from the TV to the AV Receiver. If this is true...
I'm not sure if I'm understanding you. Currently, I've hooked up the receiver to the sub's "LFE out" with a "mono AV cable". The sub works just fine. I had the option of using a "Y-splitter" to connect to the sub's L and R inputs. The botton line is does it matter which connection I use for the...
Can I just use any ordinary AV cable to hook up the subwoofer to the AV receiver? I'm currently using a mono cable, but had to option of getting a digital one. Considering, it's only the subwoofer, am I wrong to think the cable doesn't make a difference?
Thanks to everyone for the advice. Just to repeat what everyone said: read all the instruction manuals and then connect all the components. After that I will need to do the AV calibration with a SPL meter and set up DVDs like Avia or VE. Where do I purchase the set up DVDs? Do you suggest owning...
Hi Everyone, I had the luck of stumbling upon this site three weeks ago and the forums have been helpful and informative. I've even found it safe to ask dumb questions and many, if not all, of you are very supportive and encouraging. With that being said, I have another "newbie" question but...
Mahalo David. That makes much more sense now that you mentioned the Zenith has an built in HD tuner. It's phrased badly and that's probably what they meant.
Yes David, here it is: shopper.cnet.com/Samsung_TXM3098WHF/4014-6481_9-9729678.html?tag=1htrdr&q=samsung%20txm3098whf Click on "cons" under the CNET product brief section on the right. Unfortunately, I cannot post links since I'm relatively new.
One of the cons listed by cnet on the Samsung TXM3098whf is that the set "has standard resolution, which is considerably less favorable than some similarly priced TVs. For example, the Zenith C32V23, a 32 inch TV at around $1,296, has HDTV resolution. Also, this TV has only a 30 inch screen...
JoeFish, I'm curious to know how much you got the 32HS510 and where. I am also considering the Samsung 30 widescreen but now this thread has got me thinking about the Sony. the price difference might be the deciding factor. Thanks.
Thanks Lew! Your comments were very helpful. Over the weekend I was able to find the set being sold online for 800. I went to CC and BB but could not find the set, however, they had the 3075 or 3071 (can't remember). The widescreen seemed to stretch all the pictures. Does that just need...
Thanks! I've been looking at the Samsung TXN3075. I know you said it was bare bones, but what do you think of it? I've also been looking at the Philips 30PW850H. Do you know anything about this model? Between the Samsung and the Philips, which would you choose?
