Answered my own question. Using a 7.1 receiver that also allows a 2nd zone using internal amps. The 2nd zone is always stereo and the primary zone can be configured for no center and can then be run in all channnel stereo.
Kind of an off-beat question not related to HT, but I need a receiver that can power 3 pair of stereo speakers and was hoping that one of the HT receivers had a 6 channel stereo mode that might work.
Anybody?
They play quite loud and clean, I was driving them with a Yamaha RXV3300 receiver, about 100 watts per ch, but never had to turn up past 1/3 . I also use a subwoofer, so I plugged the cabinet vents on the B&W to make them a sealed box and crossed over at 60hz to the sub. If you listen to a lot...
Have brand new in box never opened Denon 3802/1082 (same thing) that I had originally bought for inlaws and never installed. $450 plus shipping from Seattle 98118 zip email me at [email protected]
I need a good test CD / DVD so that I can measure my system response. Are there any test dics that provide test tones and sweeps of the entire audio spectrum, of each channnel individually and also altogeather? I saw this disc on ebay and it looked promising but the test tones are played thru...
My Hitachi 65" HiDef (just loveit) does allow the option to use it as a center channel speaker fed by the center preout of my receiver, but it did not sound as good as my dedicated center speaker even with the limits of a 5" woofer. I have breifly tried to listen without a dedicated center...
Alot of the impact of a movie is from the center channel, and my mains are full range, biamped with dual 10"s , so I wanted to keep the low frequencies from the center channel in the center of the soundstage. I can't really fit a full range center on top of TV, my center is only a 5" woofer so I...
I want to set my speakers as follows and I am not sure which brand of receiver allows this logic. I want to set fronts to large and center to small. I want the bass from the center routed to the fronts. I would like my HT reciever to route ONLY the dedicated LFE (.1 channel from DD/DTS)...
Do you live in Seattle area? If not, can email you some pics. If you do a web search or just go to the NHT website, you can find some pictures. My are as new.
Great looking floor standing 3 way with mirror black funish. Very narrow front profile 5.5 inches wide by 15.75 inches deep by 38 inches tall. The VT-1.4 uses an MTM arrangement~ two 4.5-inch midranges and one-inch aluminium dome tweeter facing forward. A side-firing 8-inch subwoofer adds...
I am looking to update my DVD player for my new Hitachi 61" HD TV and have around $300 clams to spend. I saw the Denon DVD-1600 advertised at triocomputers.com for less than $300 and was wondering if anyone has bought from that business? I am worried that these are re-built or B goods or some...
Craig, Have you used the adjustable equalizer? On paper it seems very helpfull for adjustments to any loudspeaker or room shortcomings, although I imagine it does not work in the analog pass-thru mode.
I am continuing a search for a receiver around $400 for use with my external amps for fronts and center, want 6.1 channel and must have DPL2/NEO6. Also desire a true analog 2 channel mode. Any advice on these 2 models or similar? Is the Sony straight forward to use on a day to day basis...
Sorry, I just read the SR601 manual and see that it has no preouts. Are there other units that would compare against the Sony DA2ES when used as a preamp for the front/center channels?
Has anyone added a pre-out / main-in loop to a receiver that was not so equipped? I have an Onkyo SR600 and like its' features, but want to add external crossover and amps. I wonder if a good electronics repair shop could do this?
In excellant condition with original box, manual, remote. Good Bang for the Bucks home theater receiver. 100 watts per channel x 5. Has 5.1 channle inputs as well. For complete reviews see http://www.audioreview.com/A-V+Recei...0_2718crx.aspx
I am finally parting with both pair of my classic DCM TimeFrame speakers. Built back when it meant "Darn Clear Music". They are both similar design, a tall/wide, not very deep fabric covered cabinet with oak bottom and top caps. They are a semi-transmission line design and are very...
I read some good reviews about an older Yamaha V2090, and someone had a unit for sale on this site. But it is missing the .1 LFE input from external decoders (it has only 5.0 channel inputs) which seemed really odd. If I ran the .1 LFE output from the DVD player directly to my subwoofer, I...
I was going to use the receivers front and center amps to power the upper/mid range section of my speakers, and an external amp to power the bass sections. I would not bother to bi-amp the rears.
