The Windex I'm referring to is "Multi-surface" and is amonia free. I think that eyeglass cleaner might be an option as well. I can three 8 oz bottles from Costco for $10. As far as I can tell, the only advantage to the gel, is that it doesn't run down the screen after you spray it on.
I picked up a cleaning kit right after I purchased my Panasonic PZ800 last year. I'm really anal when it comes to keeping the display pristine. However, I find the spray gel very tedious to "polish" and remove all the residue. Would it be so bad to use the "Green" version of Windex to clean...
Ron, Just picked up the TH46800U a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to the new models coming out, I got this at an $800 (CAD) discount. I have to say that it was your post about the 85U that pushed me 'over the edge' between this set and a Sony LCD. The price, of course, was a large contributing...
"I was disappointed. I usually LOVE Patricia Heaton but found her character to be WAY too shrill and overbearing. Kelsey and Fred were great. Might check out another ep of two to see what happens, but not sure I'll stick with it." Actually I liked Patricia Heaton's character in this way more...
I have to agree with Patrick here. I liked the pilot, but can see that this one may fall due to the 'general public' just not getting into it. While I can see this being a great show, I don't want to get hooked and have it pulled mid-season and not have any resolution. As I like to call it...
Glad to hear this, although I picked them up before getting your input. Futureshop had them on for nearly half price. I had them mounted, but just before I was set to fire them up, I decided a new speaker wire run was overdue as well, so I spent Saturday morning doing that. Weather in Nova...
Considering picking these up for my deck. Anyone have any experience with these? Not really looking for a higher end alternative, just opinions on these particular speakers as they're on sale, look great and seem to fit the specs I need.
This one was from the chick flick Steel Magnolias Shirley Maclean: "Yeah, he's a real gentleman! I'm sure he takes the dishes out of the sink before he pees in it."
If you can get the OEM version, go for it. MS has relaxed the sale of remaining OEM versions of XP due to the release of Vista. Therefore, the only new OEM Windows machines being built by "reputable" shops will have OEM Vista installed going forward. One thing to note, however, is that the...
I just picked up a Klisch 5.1 package. My rear surround is crap so I want to move the RCX-3 from the front center to the rear and replace the front with the RCX-4. Considering all 5 of the speakers included in the package are identical in spec, would the higher power and sensitivity of the next...
Exactly. If you watch the Season 2 opener again, you can see the look on Al's face when he tries to tell Bullock that there's more woman in the camp than just Alma Garret. (Sugar coated for the easily offended)
Ron, Thanks for this thread. It's great to see the amount of people that have same concerns that I have. I have my doubts that either format will take off the same way that DVD has. HD DVD and/or Blue Ray, in my opinion, will be a niche market along the lines of Laser Discs. Before the...
I thought that was the most hilarious explanation of duplexing I've ever witnessed. My wife had an even more hilarious look on her face as to why I was laughing at it. I just looked at her and said "19th century geek stuff."
Ron, Wow, I must say that isn't what I would expect from any business wanting to establish a good reputation. I'm not sure what they're thinking by sending a blank CD. I find it very difficult to believe that it was an "accident". I worked for a small marketing company a few years ago, and...
I recently subscribed to Sirius (two days ago). I was given a receiver as a promotional offer when I bought a new deck for my car. I had heard that the sound quality was better with XM, but figured this was good way to trial satellite radio. I read this thread because I'm reading all of the...
I actually missed out on Third Watch because of one of the police characters. The guy was such a jerk I didn't watch any episode after the pilot. My wife loved the show. I came close to doing the same with NCIS because of Denozo, but perhaps he'll grow up now that Kate had her brains blown out...
Great season finale. I understand Tony wanting to ditch the gun, but you know that the feds will find that. (I just wish that someone would find it and use it on AJ) I thought for sure that Johnie Sack had Tony set up when I first saw the look on his face. Anyone see the Sopranos cast on...
One that I like is a "chick flick", and I get slammed for that. Steel Magnolias. Tom Skerrit and Shirley McLaine are hilarious. "Yeah, he's a real gentleman. He probably takes the dishes out of the sink before he pees in it."
I can understand the other franchises being upset about not having the set to sell, but HMV and Music World would never have sold this set for $39.99 that The Future Shop was selling it for. As for the set itself; it's great for any level of Stones fan. Great concerts in three different venues...
I think a good movie comes from the sum of the effort put forth by every name on the movie poster. Actor, Director, Writer, Music, et al. A good director can only do so much with a lousy actor (although Scorsese pulled off a miracle with Lorraine Bracco in Goodfellas). However, in all fairness...
I've had this 34HDX82 (Toshiba tube HDTV) for a couple of months now. When I power this unit off, there is a very bright flash from the screen (I mean, camera flash intensity). Is this normal? Mark ____________ Don't sweat the petty things, & don't pet the sweaty things!
I seem to recall reading that you can wire a centre channel speaker for a quasi 6.1 effect on a 5.1 system. Anyone know if this is true? How do you wire that?
I just bought pedestal type stands with carpet spikes for my front towers. These speakers were extremely prone to being tipped over by the cats/kids. I was concerened about the change in sound when I picked them up, but was pleasantly surprised to find that they now sound clearer than ever. I...
I believe that, to a certain extent, that quality cables do make a difference. When I made the leap to DVD, the first upgrade I did to my sound system, was to replace my speaker wire runs with some flat wire. While it wasn't the top of the line, it sure made a difference. Considering the crap...
I'm rather curious about this as well. I've tried, albeit not that hard, to keep my speaker wire runs as short as possible. However, I do keep a small "loop" behind each tower to allow me to it about two feet in either direction.
I have a similar remote control and it says the same thing about using Alkalines. Most all electronic devices that take AA or AAA recommend using only Alkalines. However, this isn't really practical for me considering that I use AAA in my wireless mouse, Palm Pilot, remote control, my wife's...
