OK, @ dellwatch right now they have a 15% off coupon for the "Small Bus," section, and free shipping. So it is $3164 minus -15%, plus tax for your state, free ship. The small bus section charges tax to all except Oregon. S/B under $3K to your door. Nec is way better unit than the Sampo's...
Try Dell, and check on their restock, return policies. I agree with you, you do not want to get stuck with something you do not like, and can not return easily. I ordered the Nec 42" from Dell, when the 30% off deal was going on a few days ago, this will be for the b-room. I recommend the Nec...
Brian, why do you not get a Plasma 42" ?? I am returning my 61" Sammy dlp due to poor PQ, fan noise, plastic looking faces, shimmering look to screen, etc. and getting a 50" Panny plasma. There are plenty of 42" under $3K plasma's to be had, like the Panny and NEC, and although not HD, you need...
I placed 2 orders for the 42" panny with the 30% off, and Dell cancelled both my orders last night, so I am off to get on the horn with them and see what is going on. Basically total after tax and free shipping, it came out to a little over $2.3K, outstanding price, except Dell has problems...
WWW.Plasmabay.com has them for $3349 plus shipping, no tax most States, may be cheaper that way or have BB price match that. I am looking at the 61" for $3999 from Plasmabay, anyone else found for lower than that ?
Sebastien; I may be wrong about this, but I understand that the Denon 1600 is basically a Panasonic RP82 inside except it has better DAC's, so would the build quality not be mostly RP82 based and similar ? Someone with more info. chime in here if you know more specifics, I just remember...
HK website in the FAQ's it states the receivers should handle most 4 ohm speaker loads, so that means your PA4000 should also. BTW, I just bought a HK 525 & Pa 4000 and will try 4 ohm for the many whole house speakers I have planned, but this will not be for a few months, as house is being built.
Go to HK's website and see FAQ's, they "imply" that HK is stable @ 4 ohm. I may run 4 ohm on some of the speakers on my 525 I just got, ( have not yet tried out the receiver) so we will see.
I got fed-up placing orders for black RP-82's and finding out there was not stock, then ordering black Cp-72's with the same run around. Finally I just ordered a silver one from Crutchfield.
I ended up ordering one of these, they are on B/O right now so it will take a while to get it. This will power the second zone "whole house" sound I plan on in the new house.
Finally joining the "SVS club" as I just ordered a PB1-ISD sub. This should settle the problem of the other half NOT wanting "a big ugly tube" (as she put it) in the family room. Can't wait to try it out, upgrading from a Sony WM-40.
Agreed, that is likely how they sell them for what they do, buy in bulk, sell w/o packaging. I have no problem with that now that I see that others received them this way. I like you, do not want to pay for packaging I throw in the trash. However, I have contacted them about the one 12' sub...
I just purchased and received numerous audio and video cables made by AR from this e-tailer. I was surprised to find all cables except the optical cable NOT packaged in a "AR" package, but just coiled up and taped. The 12' sub cable does not even have "AR" markings on the jacket, and no...
I just ordered a HK 525 to replace my HK 310, and have S38 rears w/ S310 fronts, in my opinion, you are good to go with the new S Center II. I do not beleive they changed the II's enough to cause concern. Look at it this way, the new II center will be the closest match, being JBl, closer...
Just ordered a Black CP-72 from "discountmaven.com" for $225 plus shipping. Make sure you go through Yahoo, if you go to the site direct it is more. (why??) :)
JBL S310's and S38's w/ my HK. I think it is a good combo, especially if you like "rock" type music. Some 310 fronts, 36 rears, and a S center can be had for well under $ 1000 shipped to your door, a good way to go. I say s36's to save some coin over the S38's, but if you can spring for them go...
Do a search on "Yahoo" shopping, just enter Panasonic RP82 and a couple of stores "claiming" stock will come up. Like this one: BSless.com claims to ship you a new one for $228, also : discountmaven.com for $271 shipped, Edigitalcity.com for 249 shipped, all to CA. Click on the very first...
Just ordered one of these for the spare room system. $132 w/ shiping costs, back ordered but I am in no hurry. All based on the reviews/raves from all of you !
If and when the fans actually go on in the HK 325's/525's ( because you are likely pushing out some major DB's ), how would you hear the fan over the sound ? I too would like to hear from someone that has had their HK fan go on and comment about it. :) Does every receiver that can draw over 1000...
Wayne, To clariy, I currently "have" the two receivers, would get a new "cheapie" for the bedroom, this would make the third receiver. The intent is to get sound throughout the home/outside inexpensively. This is not aimed at getting "reference" sound through out he home, just decent sounds...
S38's were recently acclaimed in a audio mag as very accurate and detailed speakers that played very loud, your kind of speaker if you listen to loud rock or 'popular' music. Buy the set up you mentioned, w/ the SVS, best bang for your buck, just do not get it at Best Buy.
I plan on getting an H/K 525 for my main HT setup, and using it to feed up to 3 other receivers/amps with the "second zone" outputs to send sound throughout the house. Is this possible without sound degradation ? Is splitting the output into 3 even possible ? or recommended ? how to if so ...
I have the S center, S310's, and S38's, very nice "rock" speakers for lack of a better term. The s38's are almost overkill for the rear, you could go with 36's or even 26's for rear.
There was a write up in one of the audio mags on the 38's and they raved about them, very accurate, and play...
